Party Band Sussex
A function band from Hassocks for the nights that are supposed to get messy in a good way.
Book the bandBirthdays, engagements, the lot
A party band in Sussex should do one job: make the room louder than the conversation. The Vests are a five-piece covers band from Hassocks playing 90s Britpop, classic rock and indie anthems for birthdays, engagements, celebrations and anniversaries. If the brief is 'people actually dancing', that is us.
Five players, our own PA, two 45 minute sets or as requested. Price on request. We cover all of Sussex, so a village hall in Mid Sussex and a hired room in Brighton get the same band.
The nearest proof is already in the diary: on Saturday 19 September 2026 we play a charity night for Hassocks Goes Gold at Mid Sussex Music Hall, attached to The Hassocks Pub. That is a celebration with a cause, a packed floor, and a £5 door. It is the same energy we bring to a 40th in a barn.
What you get
You hire a live band, not a production company. This is what turns up.

Songs that work for this
Party sets want the stompers. These are the ones that empty the bar and fill the middle of the room.

From Hassocks halls to hired rooms
An event band in Sussex gets booked for the same reason a pub does: somebody wants live noise on a Saturday. We are based in Hassocks and we will travel the county. Birthdays in back gardens that can take a PA, engagements in function rooms, anniversaries in the hall your family always uses. Tell us the weird bit of the venue first.
The Hassocks Pub and Mid Sussex Music Hall are the template nights: loud, Britpop-heavy, and aimed at a crowd that came to join in. A birthday party band is the same set with a different cake.
If you need a quieter corner for speeches, say so. We can shape the two halves around your timing. If the room wants The Vests, it gets The Vests.

Party questions
What events do you play?
Birthdays, engagements, celebrations, anniversaries and charity nights. If it is a party with a floor and power, ask. We cover all of Sussex.
Are you playing Hassocks Goes Gold?
Yes. Saturday 19 September 2026 at Mid Sussex Music Hall, The Hassocks Pub. Doors 7pm, £5, proceeds to CCLG. Details are on the Hassocks Goes Gold page.
How long is a party set?
Two 45 minute sets, or as requested. We can do a single longer run if the room and the neighbours allow it. Say what you want when you get in touch.
Do I need to hire a sound company?
We bring our own PA. You need space for a five-piece and a couple of plug sockets. If the hall already has a system you want us on, tell us and we will talk it through.
How much does a party band in Sussex cost?
Price on request. Date, venue, running time and where in Sussex it is all change the figure. Use the booking form and we will come back with availability and a price.
Throw it properly
Date, venue, birthday or anniversary, how long you want the band. We will tell you if we are free and what it costs.
