Live in the room

Pub Band Sussex

A Mid Sussex covers band that sounds like a Friday, not like a wedding singer in a corner.

A live band for pubs that want a queue at the bar

The Vests are a pub band in Sussex because that is where we started. Hassocks, The Hassocks Pub, Mid Sussex Music Hall next door, The Greyhound on Keymer Road. Five-piece, 90s Britpop and classic rock, our own PA, two 45 minute sets or whatever the licence and the neighbours will wear.

A live band for pubs in Mid Sussex has to fit a real room: low ceiling, sticky floor, people who came for a pint and stayed because the chorus landed. That is the job. We are based down the road and we load in ourselves.

If you book us, you get Fiona on vocals, two guitars, bass and drums. Price on request. We cover all of Sussex, so a Saturday in Brighton and a back-room in Haywards Heath are both on the table. Send the date and the stage size, even if the 'stage' is a rug.

Hassocks rooms, then yours

We already know a Mid Sussex pub night

The Hassocks Pub has had us inside, 8pm until late. The Greyhound had us outside on Keymer Road, 7:30 to 10:30. Mid Sussex Music Hall, attached to The Hassocks Pub, is the charity night in September. That is the live CV. We cover pubs across Sussex.

What a pub night looks like: we arrive, we set the PA, we play two halves with a break that lets the bar catch up. If you want the lounge singing Common People, send the form.

Landlords outside Hassocks: we will travel the county. Tell us load-in, finish time, and whether the room is indoors. We will tell you if the PA fits. Quote on request, no menu of add-ons.

Pub questions

Which pubs do you play?

The Hassocks Pub and Mid Sussex Music Hall in Hassocks, plus The Greyhound on Keymer Road. We cover pubs across Sussex.

What time do you usually start?

It depends on the pub. Recent Hassocks nights have been 8pm until late indoors, and 7:30 to 10:30 outside at The Greyhound. Tell us your hours and we will fit two 45 minute sets, or as requested.

Do you need a house PA?

We bring our own. We need power and enough floor for five players. If you have a house system you want us on, say so in the enquiry.

Can you play a beer garden?

Yes, if the weather, the power and the neighbours allow it. The Greyhound outside set is the proof. Outdoor gigs need a bit more planning, so get in touch early.

How do we book a live band for a pub in Mid Sussex?

Use the booking form with the date, the room, and finish time. Price on request. We cover all of Sussex from a Hassocks base.
