If you are looking for a wedding band in Sussex that actually fills a dancefloor, start here. The Vests are Fiona Stokes, Nick Watson, James Taylor, Brendan Streeter and Jon Wood, formed in Hassocks in 2023. We play 90s Britpop, classic rock, indie anthems and the odd modern floor-filler, loud enough to matter and tight enough that your guests already know the words.
What we bring is packed pub rooms in Hassocks, our own PA, and a set built for people who still know all the words. Evening receptions across Sussex, played like a gig, not like a playlist with a drummer.
Typical night is two 45 minute sets, or whatever the room actually needs. We bring the PA. You need a bit of floor and a couple of plug sockets. Price is on request once we know the date, the venue and how late you want it to go. We cover all of Sussex, from Brighton barns to village halls on the Downs.

Based seven miles north of Brighton
We live and rehearse in Hassocks, Mid Sussex, on the Brighton Main Line. That puts most of the county on a short hop: Brighton and Hove down the line, Burgess Hill next door, Haywards Heath a couple of stops north, Lewes across the Downs. If your reception is in Sussex, we will get there.
Rooms we suit: village halls, pubs with a function room, marquees with a solid floor, barns that can take a drum kit. Live proof is The Hassocks Pub and Mid Sussex Music Hall: a five-piece that works in a real room.
We are the evening. Tell us the running order, whether you already have a DJ, and if there is a song you need in the set. If we can do it, we will. If we cannot, we will say so before you put a deposit on the cake.

What kind of wedding do you play?
Evening receptions across Sussex. Two 45 minute sets, or as requested, with our own PA. We play pubs, parties and charity nights in Hassocks, and we bring that same live five-piece to the wedding floor.
How long do you play at a wedding?
Two 45 minute sets is the usual shape, or as requested. We can work around dinner, speeches and a first dance from a playlist. Tell us the running order when you enquire.
Do you bring a PA and lights?
We bring our own PA. House lights or a disco at the venue work with us. We need space for five players and a couple of plug sockets.
Will you learn our first dance?
Ask when you book. If it is already in the set, easy. If it is not, we will tell you straight whether we can have it ready.
How much does a wedding band in Sussex cost?
Price on request. It depends on the date, the venue, how far we are travelling in Sussex, and how long you want us. Send the form with those details and we will come back with a figure.
How far will you travel for a wedding?
We cover all of Sussex: West Sussex, East Sussex and Brighton and Hove. Hassocks is the base. If your venue is in the county, we are interested.
