Hassocks Goes Gold 2026: turning the village tropical 🍍
Hassocks Goes Gold returns for another month of gold fundraising this September, and this year the theme is golden pineapples. Drawings of sun-drenched, glowing gold pineapples will brighten up the village and help raise money for the Children & Young People's Cancer Association (CCLG).
The campaign was set up in memory of Pearl, who died of a childhood cancer aged just ten. The PearlPower fund now stands at a remarkable £163,000 and has helped fund a sixth research project, an inspiring legacy working towards kinder, more effective treatments for the childhood cancers with the poorest outcomes.
September in Hassocks means the sponsored trail of Giant Gold Bows, daily Facebook auctions, craft, face-painting and tombola stalls at the village markets, the annual poster drawing competition, and the Golden Gala finale on Friday 25 September. Our gig on Saturday 19 September is our bit, so come down, have a dance, and chip in for a brilliant cause.
