Down the line from Hassocks

Live band for Brighton and Hove, without the agency gloss

Brighton and Hove is a city and unitary authority on the East Sussex coast, city status since 2001, still two towns in most people's heads. Hove, actually. Kemptown, the Lanes, George Street, Portslade. A covers band in Brighton has to work in that mix: seafront parties, back-room pubs, hired halls north of the A270.

The Vests are ten minutes up the Brighton Main Line in Hassocks, West Sussex. We play 90s Britpop, classic rock and indie anthems. Five-piece. Own PA. Two 45 minute sets, or as requested. Price on request. We cover all of Sussex, and Brighton is the obvious hop south.

If you want a live band in Brighton for a birthday, an engagement, a pub, or an evening reception, the same band turns up. Home rooms are The Hassocks Pub and Mid Sussex Music Hall.

The city, from seven miles north

Hassocks to Brighton is the easy one

Hassocks sits on the same railway that built modern Brighton. We are a village stop north of Preston Park, about seven miles inland, with the South Downs as the view. For a covers band, that means a Brighton and Hove booking is a local job, not a tour date. Greater Brighton stretches along the coast; we will play the city and the bits that think they are still a village.

Rooms that suit us: function spaces, pubs with a back room, halls in Hanover or Hangleton, marquees that can take drums. The Hassocks Pub and Mid Sussex Music Hall are the live rooms. We are the band you book for the actual party.

Locals still split Brighton and Hove. Fine. We will play both. Hove has its own page if that is the postcode. Send the enquiry with the venue name and whether it is indoors.
